Taggiasca Olive Pate 180 g – obtained from our special Taggiasca olives, a tasty and natural pâté.
Our Taggiasca olives come from groves in Western Liguria and hold PGI certification (IGP in Italian). This PGI certification allows the entire history of the olive to be traced—from the grove to the jar—guaranteeing that it was both cultivated and processed in Liguria, thereby providing an additional assurance of the product’s authentic, purely Ligurian origin.
The Taggiasca olive is a typical cultivar grown in Ponente, the western part of Liguria (Italy) in particular in the province of Imperia. The Taggiasca olive derives its name from the border town of Taggia where it was cultivated by the monks at the Benedictine Monastery, however, it was likely imported from France in 9th century AD by the monks of Colombanus.
Taggiasca olives are smaller than many other varieties and are easily recognizable for their purple-green colour. They are incredibly tender and rich in flavour.
